Memoranda of Understanding Policy

Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) and Memoranda of Agreement (MOA) are important contracts enabling Pacific to create sustainable relationships with other higher education institutions, private industry partners, and governmental bodies. Many in our community have significant numbers of existing memoranda which assist students in experiential learning, faculty in creating new scholastic opportunities, or otherwise positively impact the academic quality and reputation of Pacific.

Due to the sheer volume of MOUs/MOAs it has become clear that centralization of these memoranda is necessary to ensure that central administration has a more complete understanding of all our contractual obligations and risks pursuant to these agreements.

Therefore, effective immediately, any and all MOUs/MOAs involving any students, faculty or program in the Academic Division must be signed by either the Provost or a designee of her office to become effective. Our goal is to streamline and normalize this process while also ensuring that any and all future MOUs/MOAs are included in our new database.
