Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs)


University of the Pacific provides its employees and students with a safe and healthy workplace environment.  Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are a part of emergency preparedness.

AEDs have been placed at various locations. The AED devices are used in warranted emergencies by certified individuals that have received training and certification from American Heart Association. Certification records are maintained on campus by the University's Environmental, Health and Safety department in Risk Management. 

Ownership and maintenance of these devices must be in compliance with California Legislative Assembly Bill no. 1507. Environmental Health and Safety oversees all maintenance and testing requirements and retains maintenance records for a period of ten years.
